Todd Pengelly

Todd Pengelly started his speech and debate journey in 2012. Debating Public Forum debate at Midtown High School in Atlanta, he helped lead his team to four consecutive speech and debate state championships. He went on to captain the Public Forum team, while becoming a state champion in Congress and third in the nation in World Schools Debate. After graduating from college and moving to Vancouver, Canada, Todd returned to the debate world virtually — before taking up an in-person head coaching position at a private academy. During his time, he helped lead the team to national titles and a top ten rank in NSDA. He’s coached and judged on every level, including NSDA Finals.  

Jackie Massey is the Head Coach at Next Level Debate Academy, bringing over 30 years of expertise in competitive debate. His leadership has guided numerous teams to national championships, showcasing his exceptional coaching skills. Jackie has been recognized with multiple awards for his dedication and excellence in teaching debate. He is passionate about fostering critical thinking and effective communication among his students, ensuring they are well-prepared for competitive environments. With a commitment to inclusivity and empowerment, Jackie strives to create a supportive atmosphere where every student can thrive and find their voice.
